What is custom human hairpiece (toupee) advantage?

These hairpieces are custom sized and are handmade with human hair or synthetic fiber, for the most natural look and lightweight comfort with quick and easy attachments. Our custom hairpieces are sized to conform to each individual and can be made in special highlights on request during consultation.The one size fit all claim is simply untrue.  For a natural, comfortable, secure appearance a custom human hair piece or hair replacement prostheses provide a man or woman with hair loss, more options to achieve the look desired.  Although more expensive, the hair, fit, and look are well worth the investment.  Hair piece replacement unit is made with exact head template measurements.  Hair color will duplicate yours including percentage of gray and highlight, wave and texture.   Many purchase two or more hair pieces at a time to provide them with flexibility, more styling options and prolong the hair piece life.  Toupee or the plural Toupees are the old fashioned word formerly used for hairpieces.

 As in wigs, hair pieces differ in cost, quality and by how much care they'll need based on hair type.  Do you want a hairpiece with synthetic or real human hair? Both can be matched to your own hair color and styled to your individual taste.  Handmade custom-made hair pieces are more expensive than machine-made hair pieces.   The most natural look will be achieved with custom human hair piece by an expert professional.

What is synthetic hair piece?
 Synthetic hair pieces are made with fiber, trying to imitate natural human hair.  Hair piece bases come in wide variety such as polymer, monofilament lace,   lace of fabric or nylon material and many more. All initial alterations are included with any City Lights full hairpiece purchased.

 It is important the base feels and looks closest to your skin and frontal line should look like natural hair growth to include front highlights color of your natural hair and percentage of gray should be compatible too.

Hair Replacement Systems
In our private salon rooms, we start by taking a plaster mold of your exact head dimensions and we take a sample cut of your hair so we can match your hair system with your natural hair. We also take into consideration your age,your lifestyle, your skin color,and the texture and density of your hair.

Replacements are matched to your hair sample and your personalized profile. Working from your mold, one hair at a time is sewn to a skin-like membrane… a process that takes about seven days.

In about four weeks, you return to our private salon in Barrington, Illinois, and our experienced stylists will attach the system to your scalp. We offer various methods of attachments depending on your lifestyle and preference. There are permanent attachments that stay on for an average of 4 weeks and semi-permanent attachments that you can put on or off yourself. Permanent attachment methods include: Weave, Bond, Fusion, or Micro Link. Semi-Permanent attachments are: Tape, Clips and Vacuum.

After the stylists have attached the hair system, they style it. short, long, wavy, curls, straight, pulled back, parted in the middle, to the side. Any way you want.

A vast variety of colors and styles are available that our staff will demonstrate how to maintain and care for your new hairpiece. We recommend our clients see us on a regular basis to help them care for and maintain both the style and quality of their hairpiece.

What an amazing transformation! It's you! Wear it anywhere at anytime. You can go swimming, horseback riding; ride in a top-down convertible. Initial full hair replacement piece purchases will include sample product and a hair care information sheet with instructions on the care of your new hairpiece.

Styling and Maintenance A vast variety of colors and styles are available that our staff will demonstrate how to maintain and care for your new hairpiece. We recommend our clients see us on a regular basis to help them care for and maintain both the style and quality of their hairpiece. Every 4 to 6 weeks, depending upon how fast your hair grows, you visit your own personal stylist. These regular maintenance visits helps to keep your hair system looking natural and blending seamlessly with your own hair. In our private room salons, you receive a haircut (your own hair) and your hair system is shampooed and reattached. Of course, between salon treatments, you can shampoo, blow-dry and style your own hair system at home, or styled at our convient Barrington, Illinois location.

Throughout the years your own natural hair may start to turn gray. You will notice this when you begin to see silver threads among the gold. Strands of gray, to match your own, are inserted to blend into your existing hair system. We can adjust the color to adapt to your own natural changes.
